COMEDK UGET

Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka — UGET

Practice papers and tests for COMEDK UGET

COMEDK UGET is the entrance test for the private engineering colleges of Karnataka — RV, BMS, Ramaiah, PES and around 150 others. Since NEET took over medical admissions it tests for engineering only. There is no negative marking, which changes the strategy completely: there is never a reason to leave a question blank. Multiple sessions are normalised to percentiles, and the rank is on the percentile.

Duration
One paper. The 2026 brochure does not state a duration; three hours is the widely reported figure.
Papers
One paper: Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, with free movement between sections.
Mode
Computer-based test, conducted jointly with Uni-GAUGE E on one application.

Question formats

  • Physics — 60 four-option MCQs, single correct
  • Chemistry — 60 four-option MCQs, single correct
  • Mathematics — 60 four-option MCQs, single correct

Marking

Question typeCorrectPartialIncorrect
Every question+1—No negative marking — stated twice in the official brochure. Never leave a question blank.

Eligibility and admissions

These change from year to year. Always confirm against the current information brochure before acting on anything here.

Conducted by:
The Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka, for KUPECA.
Scoring:
Percentile normalisation across sessions, in line with NTA and IIT practice. Ranks are on the percentile, not the raw mark.
Tie-break:
Percentile in Physics and Mathematics together, then Mathematics, then Chemistry, then the elder candidate. The older 'fewest wrong answers' rule cannot apply — there are no negatives to count.
Eligibility:
Class 12 with Physics, Mathematics and English compulsory plus one of Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Computer Science or Electronics; about 45% in PCM, all from a single board. Diploma holders are not eligible and there is no lateral entry.

Where this exam leads

All private — there is no government route through this exam

About 150 KUPECA member colleges and roughly 20,000 seats.

Grouped by band rather than ranked one by one, because the ordering changes yearly and a branch at one institute is often worth more than a seat at a higher-ranked one. Check NIRF and the official counselling data before setting your preferences.

We do not publish closing ranks for this exam. Its counselling data is not released in a form we can verify institute by institute, and a plausible-looking invented number is worse than none — take the cut-offs from the conducting body's own counselling reports.

Courses offered

  • • B.Tech / B.E. — Computer Science and its variants, which take the highest cut-offs almost everywhere
  • • B.Tech / B.E. — Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical
  • • Interdisciplinary programmes: Data Science, AI, Mathematics and Computing, Engineering Physics
  • • Dual-degree and five-year integrated B.Tech–M.Tech programmes at several institutes
